June 12, 2013

“Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the gift he promised, as I told you before. 5 John baptized with water, but in just a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” 8...But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth...
Acts 1:4-5 and 1:8

When my confidence in God is shaken, I am vulnerable.  I do not need to lack confidence today or any other day of my life because Jesus points me to the source of confidence—it is found in His presence. The Father has provided us with His Spirit so that we are never without His presence. You and I need His presence because we will be called today as a witness to the life and teachings of Jesus. You and I are called in our homes, workplaces, community and our church.  Do you lack confidence?  As Jesus says in the verse above, “do not leave” until you experience the Holy Spirit of God. You will know when you do.  It may be an incredible flood of tears or it may be with a quiet confidence that arises in you. Decide today to put yourself in His path by reading the Bible. Begin by reading Acts 1 and keep going.

This coming weekend is, of course, Father’s Day!  We are going to celebrate our dads!  Make it part of your Father’s Day to be with us.  You will be glad you did.

We love you and look forward to seeing you this weekend!
